NAC Library (E. A. Jonušo str. 3, Nida)
Since Spring 2020 Druskininkai Artists’ Residency, Kaunas Artists’ House, Rupert, NAC, and Kintai Art have held online meetings discussing about their roles as residency centers in the culture field in Lithuania. As most of them participate to NAC Nightlife Events Programme, we use the occasion to meet live at the NAC library, and look further into those questions connected to positioning and strategies related to establishing a sincere and commonly understood idea about the roles residencies take in the processes of cultural production.
Participants: Agnė Bagdžiūnaitė and Edvinas Grinkevičius (KAH), Audra Juodeškienė (Kintai Art), Egija Inzule (NAC), Milda Laužikaitė (DAR), and Julija Reklaitė (Rupert). Discussion will be moderated by current participant to NAC residencies Adomas Narkevičius.
Autarkia is an artist day care center, a club of interests, an office space for putative experiences and imaginary solutions, a bistro of experimental gastronomy, a gallery and project development hotel in Vilnius. Its subdivision Delta Mityba is a restaurant run by artists.
Druskininkai Artists’ Residence, or DAR, is a programme launched by the Lithuanian Composers’ Union back in 2011. Aimed at composers from Lithuania and beyond, it facilitates international cultural exchange and encourages collaboration between different artists who are expected to draw professional audiences and local residents to their new projects created in the resort town of Druskininkai.
The programme has the capacity to host up to five international residents at a time. NAC regularly works with visual artists and researchers who focus on history, ecology and politics, visual culture and interdisciplinarity.
Situated in Vilnius, Rupert is a centre for art and education devoted to establishing close cooperations between artists, thinkers, researchers, and other cultural actors through interdisciplinary programmes and residencies.
