On Thursday the 23rd July, XAW is back in Kaunas Artists’ House backyard, presented by Matters. Platform for Industrial Culture.

Baraboro (Gintė Preisaitė) is not a new name for the ears that listen for experimental sounds – she’s played in Kaunas Artist House in 2018 in the concert series entitled CRRNT. Gintė is a trained pianist, at present – in Lithuania before leaving for the Rhythm Academy in Copenhagen. You can often see her play with a trio or in duo, however, for XAW Gintė is preparing the debut programme of her solo project baraboro. The sound of baraboro is that of a viscosity of a synthesizer, intertwining with the voice while negotiating with noise, loneliness of enclosed rooms and nostalgia.

Whereas id – you’ll hardly find anything about him online, except for two of his live sets performed in Advanced Electronics Sunday events by Electron Emitter. The author of the project, Martynas Seniut, is interested in the boundaries between music and sound. He applied his skill in engineering and constructed modular synthesizers – and these are the instruments he’s playing to construct compositions which might start with pretty sine waves and end up in (controlled) chaos, but not necessarily so.

The goal of XAW micro-concert series is to present various approaches to creating electronic sound, as well as fostering the space for experimentation for both artists and the audience. The space of XAW is open to glitch and the peculiar.
