What is Philosophy? is the last joint work of the 20th-century French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst Félix Guattari.

at the chaos that surrounds us. Most of the images that dominate the Deleuzian system, crowned with social and political devotion to the struggle for individual rights and freedoms, can be found in the book.
Gilles Deleuze (1925-1995), was a French philosopher, who wrote philosophical works covering the fields of post-structuralism, metaphysics, and epistemology. His philosophy also tackled politics, film, aesthetics, and religious topics. Félix Guattari (1930-1992) was a psychotherapist and creator of Schizoanalysis and Ecosophy concepts, who worked at the La Borde Psychiatric Clinic in France. Together, these representatives of continental philosophy co-authored Anti-Oedipus (1972), A Thousand Plateaus (1980), Capitalism and Schizophrenia.

Professor Gintautas Mažeikis, lecturer at VMU, philosopher, cultural theorist, anthropologist, and author of two books Dvasios niekšybė and Propaganda ir simbolinis mąstymas. Research interests include critical theory, symbolic thinking, political anthropology.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nijolė Keršytė is a lecturer at VU, philosopher, and translator of the book What is Philosophy? Research interests include modern French philosophy, post-structuralist theory, semiotics.
The discussion will be moderated by Associate Professor, Dr. Jurga Jonutytė, philosopher, and head of VMU Philosophy Department. Research interests include ecosophy, feminist theory, narratology, theory and criticism of ideology. She is the author of the book Tradicijos sąvokos kaita and translator of M. Heidegger’s monograph The Origin of the Work of Art.
