What experiences and identities shape you and influence your poetry?
Trenksmas cycle joins the international festival Superheroes of Slam and will celebrate a variety of identities on the slam stage.
This event is part of an international competition that will bring together communities from over 10 different cities. Each city will host its own individual heat, with the final taking place in Berlin in spring 2021.

PRIZES OF THE FINAL EVENT
First place: 400 Euros.
Second place: 100 Euros
Third place: 50 Euros
The theme “identity” is intentional both with respect to the artistic possibilities it offers, and also as a way of recognising the importance and centrality that identity plays in our everyday politics. This political dynamic will be a prominent and visible strand that will impact all dynamics of the gathering.
RULES
• Contestants must perform their own, original work
• No use of props.
• 3 minute max for each
performance (point penalties will apply for exceeding 3 minutes).
• The clock starts from the moment the contestant speaks
• The contestant with the highest aggregate score goes through to the final.
• No racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, beliefism, classism, ableism or hate speech that support and perpetuate power structures of oppression.
COURSE OF THE EVENT
The selection of Superheroes of Slam is special not only because it has a theme, participants will be judged not only by the audience, but also by the judges. The judges and the judging guidelines, as well as the methods of voting by the audience, will be presented in a separate post shortly.
The event will take place in zoom where the participants, the audience and the judges will connect. There will be three rounds with all participants. The judges’s votes will be announced immediately after each performance, the audience will have the opportunity to vote after each round. The result will be a sum of the votes from the judges and the audience, the participant with the most points will win.
The event will be held in Lithuanian, but participants
are invited to read in Lithuanian, English or another chosen language (those reading in a language other than Lithuanian or English will be required to provide a translation).
The audience doesn’t need to register, the event link will be posted in the event before the event.
