Framed by words / workshop-performance

‘įrėminta žodžiais’ (eng. framed by words) is a workshop-performance led by Dovydas Laurinaitis, as part of the ongoing performance as research project ‘your pain is humming in my vertebrae’.
Inspired by and adapted from my 2018 performance ‘the writer cleanses’, we will use ourselves as material and language as the frame on which the performance of our individual and collective shadows takes place.Through a series of dialogues with ourselves, each other, space and time, we will the trace the language inside our bodies. Using writing, speech, movement and ritual, we will cleanse these words into ourselves as an act of radical acceptance.

We will also examine the power of language and how performance can be used as a catalyst for transformation.

As this workshop-performance involves allowing vulnerability with ourselves and others, we encourage those who are open to exploring themselves collectively and honestly to register. No prior writing or movement experience is necessary, only the willingness to try.

The instructions will be delivered in English, however you can participate in any language that is most comfortable for you.
