Art’s Birthday 2021: Concert of requests

We were lucky that more than a million years ago, on January 17, someone dropped a dry sponge into the bucket of water and art emerged. At least that is what a French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou, who started Art’s Birthday on January 14, 1963, thought.

 

Together with the global community of artists, Kaunas Artists’ House along with the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association and cultural complex SODAS 2123 radio joins the initiative and invites to celebrate Art’s Birthday in Lithuania for the second year in a row. This year, it’s the 1,000,058th!

After celebrating live last year, this year we invite you to commemorate the birthday by listening to the concert of requests on the Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association and cultural complex SODAS 2123 radio (radio.letmekoo.lt). The festive show will feature your birthday wishes and desired musical works created especially for this occasion by artists Demetrio Castellucci, Antanas Lučiūnas, Elena Neniškytė, Adomas Palekas, Jūra Elena Šedytė, and Augustė Vickunaitė.
This year’s Art’s Birthday is curated by the composer, artist, and SODAS 2123 resident Gailė Griciūtė and Kaunas Artists’ House curator Edvinas Grinkevičius.

The event is organized by Kaunas Artists’ House together with the cultural complex SODAS 2123 and the Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association. Partners – Euroradio Ars Acustica Group.
