Kaunas Artists‘ House and the community of V. Putvinskio street continue the year-old tradition that has gathered the citizens of Kaunas and its guests to this historical part of the city – the “Putvinskio Street Day”. This year the event will take place on the last Saturday of this spring – the 26th May.
The core of “Putvinskio Street Day” is the encouragement of neighbourly and communal relationships, inviting the city’s communities for an honest conversation: throughout the entire day of the event, everyone will find a little something for themselves in the programme. The participants of this year’s event will be invited to enjoy a wide range of cultural and educational activities, taking place in a variety of places across the street: its slopes, public gardens, unique buildings and their courtyards, and of course, in the street itself.
The participants will be invited to explore the history of V. Putvinskio street, listen to the stories of its inhabitants and get involved in a rich programme prepared both by the community of the street and the artists, cultural operators and initiatives from the city. A part of this year’s “Putvinskio Street Day” programme was selected through an open call, which collected suggestions from the city’s communities and various other initiatives.
We invite you to join us in further creating the story of this unique street and a new tradition in the city of Kaunas.
The full programme of the event will be announced shortly – please follow the KAH Facebook page and website for further information.
