Kaunas Artists’ House (KAH, Lithuania) together with the ACROSS residencies by thankyouforcoming (based in Nice, French Riviera, France) are starting to carry out the Reciprocal Residency Programme DeMo (Decoding Modernity).

At the end of October of 2020, Kaunas Artists’ House, in cooperation with Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture 2021 and the cultural center LAB (Novi Sad), after an open call selected 4 artists. The artists started their participation in the international reciprocal residency programme DeMo in November.

Kaunas Artists’ House (KAH, Lithuania) together with Kulturni Centar LAB (Novi Sad, Serbia) are starting to carry out the Reciprocal Residency Programme DeMo (abbreviation of Decoding Modernity). The programme aims to explore the connections between different modernities and to unravel modernity as a phenomenon in the broader sense of time and space and across cultural, scientific, societal and industrial developments.

The artists participating in the 2020 edition of the Reciprocal Residency Program “DeMo” are Ginte Regina (LT) and Niamh Seana Meehan (NI). They were selected through an Open Call and will be spending February 2020 in Derry/Londonderry (Ginte Regina) and Kaunas (Niamh Seana Meehan) hosted by CCA and KAH respectively.

In 2019, Kaunas Artists’ House residency programme “Unlearning Eastern Europe”* invites guest curators from Baltic countries and aims to reconsider the contemporary issues of the region, ranging from traumas of historical past, opportunities for decolonization to strategies of memory politics or activism. During December KAH is pleased to host the third curator to participate in this year’s programme – Anete Skuja (LV).
